Morning visitors

Except for a brisk walk for exercise this afternoon, today was a paperwork day for me. No time for adventure. But I did slip out the back door with the camera this morning when I saw a couple of rabbits in the old play yard.

And while I was there, I found some other visitors. The cactus wrens, hummingbirds and woodpeckers eluded me, but I managed to get some shots of some of the others.

A mockingbird on the wall:

Grackles on the power pole:

A dove on a power line:

And sparrows and finches on the mulberry next door:

Hawk note:
The red-tailed hawks continue to soar, and I've only seen them come to rest one at a time. No further sign of the threesome.

Pam-- So much wildlife all around. Isn't it amazingly gratifying to just take a look and find them all there. Love your bunnies.

Pretty neat in the middle of suburbia to find that wildlife will still show up. I wonder about the cactus wrens. They'll play under the creosote bush and ignore me when I'm within inches of them. But if I lift a camera up, they fly off immediately, squawking like crazy.
