More photos of the Curve-Billed Thrasher

(Continued from yesterday's post). I saw the Thrasher fly to the the wash by our neighbour's driveway. It began exploring the ground under some rhus lancia bushes, mesquite trees and prickly pear cactus. The Curve-billed Thrasher forages on the ground, pokes and probes in plant litter, and digs holes in the soil with its long, down-curved bill.

I took some photos of it as it gave me the eye

and then went back to foraging.

Beautiful

I do have to figure out how to train my camera :)

Such a cooperative little bird, posing like that for you! What a beauty. I love seeing the birds of your neighborhood.

I come here for my bird fix. ;-)

endment - I think your camera is very well trained, indeed. I try to emulate you.

RD - I think it was really wishing I'd go away and leave it to do its job. Our birds are mostly grey, brown -- desert disguise colours. Occasionally we get some brighter ones coming through. I enjoy your birds -- the raptors are awesome (literally) and your songbirds are a treat.

Cynthia - The weird thing is that I'm not a birder and certainly never thought of photographing birds until I started trying out my new camera. Now I watch them everywhere I go.

J'admire beaucoup votre talent pour photographier tous ces oiseaux dans des conditions si difficiles !

jean - This bird wasn't too difficult to photograph. It didn't run or fly away like some do. I'm so new at this that I don't know if I'm just lucky or if this is the Thrasher's usual behaviour. Je suis heureux que vous visitez mon blog.
