So glad you stopped by TGB where I found this link. Enjoyed living several years in AZ where we traveled all over the state almost every weekend. Will look forward to stopping by for views of the beautiful desert plants and flowers such as this Ocotillo.
Ohhh ... I LOVE hummingbirds!!!!!! I've never seen any in real life, but there is something about the idea of them that appeals to me. Like bumblebees with beaks. I believe I am not alone. Everyone loves to love a hummingbird, right?! A bit like the dolphins of the bird world? I love your photos and the description of the plants. Who needs the National Geographic channel when you can tune into Pam's blog?
I retired from the University of Arizona, where I coordinated distance learning. New enthusiasms include learning about digital photography and photoprocessing, archaeology, theatre, and observing the natural world around me.

I'll bet that the little Broad-billed Hummingbird in your photo was guarding the Ocotillo. Such good nectar sources are a bit scarce this year.

Très belle photo . L'oeil ne sait que choisir :la fleur ou l'oiseau !
I agree with Jean! Because both are beautiful to the eye. Yeah!
Wow.. My mind is stuck on that word. I do love the pic and the bird. ;-)
I love photographs of hummingbirds when they are still. They always keep such a speedy pace, that their stillness is fleeting and sweet.
The colors in the bird feathers are gorgeous. I can make out a metallic emerald green. Wow
OH Lovely!!!
Thanks, all! It's been a busy weekend and I'm off to bed, but I wanted to acknowledge your generous and warm comments.
