June 23 - Vanier Park, Vancouver

R. and I both enjoy contemporary art. We saw these sculptures in Vanier Park. One of our favourite Vancouver sculptures is the crab fountain outside the Vancouver Museum.

Yes, that crab fountain is wonderful. I hope to be able to see it this fall but I am not sure if we are going to get to Vancouver. We may just be in Victoria.

the top photo of sculptures looks like human figures...lovely.

not sure about the crab...maybe a little glib....a little big, but I guess that's the point, eh?

Those are quite beautiful, but I especially like the crab fountain. Lovely. Makes me want to go to Vancouver.

ow- Victoria is charming and there are great places to visit on Vancouver Island, but I hope you get to Vancouver, too. The UBC Anthropology Museum is a "must see" if you're at all interested in that kind of thing.

mary - We still haven't had a chance to explore Stanley Park other than driving through it with friends. We hope to go to the aquarium on our next trip.

tdharma - Never thought of the crag as glib. I love to watch children play around that fountain - they seem to love the crab.

ra - I hope you'll get to Vancouver. It's a wonderful city - such diversity and all kinds of cultural and natural history treats. It's probably difficult for you and Roger to think of leaving your own sweet piece of land, but BC is a fabulous place to explore if you ever feel like travelling, and it's certainly in your neck of the woods, relatively speaking.
