I wondered if that were a hummingbird. It does look a bit raggedy. I photographed one scratching the other day, and noticed they stretch their neck in ways you never expect them to. It's wild. Great shots.
hummingbirds are great preeners and I've observed this behavior often..sweet photos.. and a belated happy birthday my friend. May your coming years be filled with much joy and many blessings.
to all - sorry I haven't been keeping up. This little bird was resting on a branch and perfectly happy grooming herself. Couldn't care less about onlookers.
