Wonderful scanning here. I love it. I tried it the other day on one of our posts. I scanned some feathers that I found under our bird feeder. It really creates an interesting result. I like the depth of it.

Did you scan the actual flowers themselves, not a picture of them? I really like the lightening of the flowers, they look wonderful.
endment - it's fun to do. Haven't figured out yet how to make delicate subjects like leaves and flowers stay put on the scanner bed when I put the cloth on top. Other things scan beautifully - rocks, feathers, even a stuffed animal :)
jimmy, chancy, laurahinnj - thank you. If you have a flatbed scanner, you should try it. The pictures make themselves.
robinandrea - I saw your feather scan - it's lovely. Feathers make great subjects. My spouse scanned a single small perfect grey feather and then blew up the image to make a beautiful piece of art.
daniel - yes, I used real flowers. You can see the pollen, although I photoprocessed some of it out of the background. I put the flowers on the scanner bed and then put a black cloth over them. Didn't put the lid down. Check over at dharma bums for a great scan of feathers.
Scanning flowers is great fun. I am hoping to do some more this summer.When you figure out how to keep things still let me know because I have that problem as well!I love this one you have just done so colourful.
mary - when you do some, I hope you'll post them on Forest Walks. I'd love to see scans of some English flowers.
