Roadrunner photo

I've written about Roadrunners before. Here's a photo of one who came into our patio last week. It's only through enlarged photos that I've been able to see some of the colours in the roadrunner's plumage. (Click on the photo to see it full size. It's worth it!)

Hi Pam! What a nice, sharp photo, and you were able to capture the subtle iridescence on its (most likely his) feathers.

Hi t. beth - Good to hear from you. I was very happy that this guy stopped on the wall on his way out. I love the iridescence, too.

I've never seen one of these birds in real life. I really like your sharp photo!

OW - They are fun to watch up to a point. But they are incredible predators - I've seen them hunt and kill snakes, lizards and birds. They are the largest of the cuckoos.

Hi Laura - Thanks for stopping by. I'll try to post more often, but I don't have much time for photography these days, alas.
