All Souls Procession 2006 - Finale

(In yesterday's post about the Tucson 2006 All Souls Procession, I showed photos of some of the community participants. This is a continuation.)

As the urn travelled along the procession route, people added paper wishes and memories honouring their ancestors to those that had already been sent in to the project. Our older son and I joined the procession for a little while and then went to the finale site so we could get a good vantage point to view the finale and the burning of the urn. Our younger son was a member of the Spirit Group.

All Souls Procession - 2006

Here are some photos from Tucson's All Souls Procession, 5 November 2006. The procession is a community-wide all-inclusive project. The estimate is that over 8000 people participated and thousands more lined the streets. (The crowds made it very difficult to get clear shots.) I'll post photos of the Finale and the Burning of the Urn tomorrow.
